UN to UK: "Abolish The Monarchy Now!"

The republicans have really gone off their rocker and this time the source isn't the Labour Party but the United Nations (surprise surprise).

The full article is here: Abolish The Monarchy UN Report Tells Britain

An excerpt from the article:

The UN Human Rights Council says the UK must “consider holding a referendum on the desirability or otherwise of a written constitution, preferably republican”.

The demand by the council, which includes regimes like Saudi Arabia and Cuba among its 29 members, caused outrage last night.
So my question is: when the referendum is held and the People overwhelmingly tell the UN to shut up and mind their own business, will the UN give up? The UN Human Rights Council doesn't have the best record either, and one of the members telling the United Kingdom to ditch their monarchy is Saudi Arabia, the most absolute monarchy on the planet. What room do they have to talk of republicanism? I think there is something else involved here.
